THERE will be no repeat of the Easter bank holiday heatwave this weekend - and the Met Office is even warning of frost as temperatures plunge.

While temperatures hit the heady heights of 25C over the Easter weekend, the May bank holiday is likely to top out at 14C at the very highest.

And it will be cold at night, forecasters are warning, with frost possible as it drops to low single figures early on Sunday morning.

It's a far cry from last year's May bank holiday, when the UK saw record temperatures of 28C.

Though there will be no heatwave, the weather is expected to be largely dry and bright.

Monday afternoon could see temperatures hit a high of 16C, though the average daytime figure for the weekend will be nearer 13 and it will struggle to get above 11C on Saturday.
