THOUSANDS of pounds worth of goods were stolen from a business at a Swindon trading estate.
Swindon Plant and Tool Hire in Headlands Trading Estate was broken into between 10 pm on April 26 and 1.30am on April 27 and more than £40,000 worth of items were stolen, including a Citroen Relay van, two JCB track barrows, a circular saw and more.
PC Jess Hopton said: “We believe the incident happened at approximately 10.45pm and more than one person was involved.
“The front steel door was drilled through and searches were carried out inside the premises where vehicle keys were stolen.
“Various items of plant machinery were also stolen and loaded into one of the company vans, which was then stolen. It is possible that the offenders went back to the property for a second time to steal more items.”
Police have been carrying out extensive enquiries and is urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to call 101.
