A FASHION show will give make-up students a chance to get a real-life experience in the rag trade.

Love Fashion Live! is a month-long campaign set up by inSwindon BID The Brunel Shopping centre and The Parade to showcase lines from local retailers and promote events linked to fashion, beauty and wellbeing.

Models of different shapes and sizes will sashay along the catwalk at the Love Fashion Live! Show in the town centre on May 10, hosted by Nicole Cox from Swindon who is currently Miss East Midlands, former Miss Wiltshire and former Pure International Miss UK.

Students from New college will be providing professional make-up and hair for the models taking part.

Hair and Media Makeup course leader at New College Gemma Mulrooney said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the students to get real life experience and give them the perspective to work as make-up artists.

“They will apply during the show what they’ve learned throughout their training. “

“They are prepared for the show as they used to work in studio and on models. We also taught them different techniques to use.

“We re delighted to collaborate with Swindon town centre to create exciting makeup and hair looks for the catwalk for Love fashion live. We hope you enjoy this visual extravaganza and are inspired.”

Initially launched by The Brunel shopping centre in 2017, the event returns bigger this year, starting with a free fashion and beauty pop-up at the Parade on May 4.

The Brunel centre manager, Jane Stewart said: “We are really pleased Love Fashion Live is back for 2019. Last year’s event was a great success and The Brunel received a lot of positive feedback.

“I’m delighted that this year, we have been able to work together with our partners to bring an event to Swindon town centre.”

It was recently announced that ex-member of the boy band Blue Lee Ryan will be performing as part of the event at CitiFaith on Regent Street.
