A ROBBER who demanded a shopkeeper open the till and hand over cash fled empty handed.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the attempted robbery at Mac News, Drove Road.
The convenience store was targeted at around 10.10pm on Friday, May 3. A man entered the store and demanded the shopkeeper open his till.
But he ended up fleeing the store empty-handed. Police said the suspect ran into an alleyway leading to Westmorland Road.
The man is described as tall, of medium build. He was wearing a black hooded top with a white hood, blue jeans, white trainers and black Nike gloves.
A force spokesman said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or might recognise the suspect by the clothing he was wearing."
