A BEAUTY queen will grace regional martial arts championships with her presence to help raise awareness of life-saving CPR skills tomorrow

Miss Great Britain Kobi-Jean Cole will be in Swindon with Matt Fiddes, who is hosting the southern regional championships for his chain of martial arts schools, to give a boost to the local campaign Bring Back Oliver’s Smile.

Six-year-old Oliver Johnson, from Oxford, will get to meet the two celebrities with his parents on the day.

In 2016 he had a seizure at home which left him permanently brain damaged that affected many of his motor functions.

Celebrity trainer Matt had to perform CPR on his own son Hero who also had a seizure at home and stopped breathing, fortunately he made a full recovery, leading him to set up MF Hero First Aid to teach other parents CPR skills.

Campaigner and family friend Samuel May told the Adver: “It’s quite big. She’s been supporting us a lot, and this will be the first time she meets Oliver.

“Matt has said on several occasions it’s something close to his heart because of what happened to his son.

“It’s going to be a good day, anybody is welcome.

“Everyone will have a photo opportunity with Matt and Miss GB. Oliver’s family will be there, so I think it will be really good. Especially to have everyone in one place.”

Another special guest will be six-year-old Charlie Pierce, whose mum Donna is the CPR trainer for MF Hero First Aid, and has become good friends with Oliver.

Samuel added: “He’s met Oliver before, and he used his pocket money in his piggy bank to try and put a smile on his face. Now he’s a young ambassador and he’s competing this weekend. He’s such a little gent.”

Charlie has also been making cakes to sell on the day.

The event will be in the Oasis Leisure Centre from 9am to 1pm to those interested in helping the campaign.
