MORE than 800 students visited Bradon Forest School's first careers fair.

Pupils received advice and guidance from employers, colleges and universities which helped them figure out their next steps and ideal careers.

The army brought along uniform and equipment for the students to try on,Wessex Archaeology had interesting artefacts on display for students to explore, and some stands had virtual reality interactive games and puzzles to try out.

Graham Biggs from Prospect Hospice said: "For a very first recruitment fair, it was really well organised, from parking to setting up, and lunch was very nice as well. It also had a very good response from the various organisations taking part. Thank you to the school for allowing me to talk to the students about volunteering and fund raising and I hope we are invited back next year."

Sean Bolton from Siemens said: "Thank you to the school for putting on a well-organised careers fair and providing us with refreshments and lunch. It was an enjoyable day meeting and talking to the students and hopefully they gained a bit of an insight into careers in engineering."

Danielle McGovern from Bradon Forest School said: "We have had so many positive comments from our visitors about how engaged and well behaved our students were, and we are more than pleased at how the event has run. Some visitors have already asked to return again and we are looking forward to arranging our next event. We are most grateful to the organisations who attended our first careers fair and look forward to working with them again in the future."
