A MAN'S ankle was broken in a hit-and-run near Marlborough.

The victim, in his 50s, was taken to Great Western Hospital to be treated for the suspected fracture.

Now, Wiltshire Police has appealed for any witnesses to the Mildenhall hit-and-run.

The force said the man had been hit by a silver saloon car at the junction of Berry Cottages and Home Farm Road at around 10.40am on Thursday, May 16. The car failed to stop at the scene.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "The details of the vehicle and driver are unknown at this stage, but it is suspected that the driver’s side wing mirror has sustained damage following contact with the pedestrian.

"The man, aged in his 50s, suffered a suspected fractured ankle and was later taken to Great Western Hospital, Swindon, for further treatment."
