A FUNDRAISER for Highworth Scouts heading to America for an international jamboree helped one youngster reach her target.
Evie Harper must raise £4,000 to join her fellow 1st Highworth Scouts friends Elliot Scott, Ellen Bailey, Daniel Triggs and Finola Durnin-Duffy.
They must raise a similar amount each to pay for the cost of the trip to the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia and subsidise the costs for Scouts from poorer nations.
The Heart in Hand pub in Blunsdon supported Evie by hosting a golf event before Christmas then putting a donation bucket on the bar between December and the end of April..
Altogether, generous punters raised £625.23 to help her head off to the USA in July.
Evie’s mum Samantha said: “The Heart in Hand has been amazing. We are particularly grateful to the landlord Steve Leppard and to Graham King, who organised the golf event.”
