A decision on whether a plan to build a huge incinerator at the Keypoint industrial estate in South Marston is not expected for nearly a month.
The upstairs gallery at Steam Museum was packed in January for the public hearings of a planning inquiry chaired by the inspector Melvyn Middleton.
He was hearing the appeal by Rolton Kilbride, who had previously had its plans for the plant turned down by Swindon Borough Council's planning committee.
After that decision, its lawyer Anthony Crean threatened he would put the council ‘through the mincer”.
Initially, after the hearings, a decision by Mr Middleton was expected by mid-March.
The inspector then asked for more written submissions from the borough council, Rolton Kilbride and residents’ group SKIP. Now no decision is expected before mid-June
