A CHARITY that supports people who have lost loved ones to suicide received a £1,000 donation from a housebuilder's community fund.
Survivors of Bereavement by Sucide aka Swindon SOBS personally helped Amy Blanchflower from Barratt Homes, so she nominated them to receive funding from the developer's community fund which aims to support good causes which improve the quality of life for people living in areas where Barratt builds houses.
Jacqueline Parry from SOBS said:. “The most important thing is the prevention of suicide and to support those who are suffering in silence and for them to be able to talk in a safe environment and be listened to without being judged.”
Barratt Homes' Bristol managing director Russell Glimstead said: “We know that suicide has a massive impact on family and friends and Swindon SOBS is there to help people at this difficult time. We hope that our donation can help the charity continue its invaluable work.”
