HONDA has said discussions over the redundancy package are yet to be completed.

It follows comments from workers at the South Marston plant that they are "disgusted" at the offer presented to the workforce.

Honda this month confirmed its decision to close the factory by 2021.

In the latest offer, workers have been promised a month's pay for every year they have worked at the plant.

But one Honda man, who asked not to be named, described the package as "derisory".

In a statement, Honda UK Manufacturing Ltd said: "We have now entered phase two of collective consultation, which includes discussions regarding financial and practical support for associates.

"Honda, Unite and associate representatives have begun consultation regarding redundancy packages, the details of which have been shared with associates.

"These discussions are still ongoing."
