Actress and singer Billie shot to fame as a teenager with No 1 hit 'Because We Want To' more than 20 years ago and went on to star in Dr Who as well as a string of films. The 36-year-old topped the Wikipedia list for her hometown, according to data collected between July 2015 and May 2019.

In nearby Royal Wootton Bassett, Lionel Ashfield, the First World War flying ace credited with seven aerial victories, leads the way.

Conservative MP for Torridge and West Devon Geoffrey Cox takes the honour for Wroughton, where he was born 59 years ago.

English suffragette Edith New (Highworth), zoologist and painter Desmond Morris (Purton) and Viscount William Barrington (Shrivenham) also appear on the map.

Elsewhere, there are multiple entries for Ed Sheeran and Winston Churchill.
