PAEDOPHILE Nigel Birch's "manipulative and abhorrent" abuse has been blasted by a children's charity.

“His manipulative and abhorrent behaviour resulted in an innocent child suffering prolonged abuse for his own sexual gratification.

“Abuse can leave a child with damage that could remain with them well into their adult lives, so it is crucial victims are given the appropriate support.”

Det Sgt Helen Clarke of Wiltshire Police, said: “This was a complex case carried out by our Child Internet Exploitation Team, which included financial and cyber enquiries."
