EXPERIENCED GPs will be parachuted into IMH surgeries in Swindon, the NHS has revealed.
Called GP supporters, the doctors will be working with each of the five IMH-linked practices, offering leadership support and reviewing clinical correspondence.
In an open letter to patients, Nikki Millin, deputy chief executive of Swindon NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "Patients should be assured that these GP supporters are themselves experienced GPs, who have a wealth of clinical knowledge and possess many years’ experience in supporting practices to get where they need to be."
The move follows the announcement that trouble hit IMH would be leaving Swindon. The company, which introduced a much-criticised call centre hub last year, had been served with demands to improve by both the CCG and the regulator the Care Quality Commission.
Ms Millin said a new doctor would be joining Moredon Medical Centre, whose three GP partners have resigned.
She urged patients not to register with new surgeries.
