MORE than 30 paddlers from Devizes Canoe Club took part in the Bradford on Avon Hasler Race on Sunday.

Phillipe and Phoebe, racing together for the first time, were first across the line in the combined Lightning and Mini K2 event.

They were followed by Arthur, who was first in the U10M Lightning class, and Cameron, who was second in the U12M Lightning class.

In the singles classes, in a closely-fought Division 10 race, Daisy was third, Jamie sixth and Will ninth.

Beatrix was eighth in Division Eight, one place ahead of Andrew. Ian was 10th in Division Seven, with Heather 14th.

Following his recent promotion, Dan was seventh in Division Two.

In the doubles, the Division Nine start again provided some interesting moves, particularly from the large Devizes C2 contingent.

Eventually, Ian and Tereza were the first Devizes crew in fourth place, with Jenny and Katherine fifth, Mark and Jo seventh and Roger and Jon eighth.

Sue and Bev, racing together for the first time, were second in Division Eight, while Alice and Liz were second in Division Seven in their first Hassler.
