A TEEN was punched and pushed in a random assault in a Wiltshire town.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after the attack on the boy, 17, in Devizes town centre on June 4.

The boy was approached on Southbroom Road by two men he did not recognise. They punched him and pushed him to the floor, resulting in bruising and swelling to his face.

PC Reed said: “This incident has understandably been upsetting for the victim and we are continuing with our enquiries to identify those responsible.

“The incident happened during the early evening near to the fire station so it is likely there would have been pedestrians or motorists passing the area who may have seen something which could help us with our investigation.

“The suspects are both believed to be white males, aged around 17-years-old and approximately 5 ft 7 inches tall. They were dressed in black with their hoods up."

Witnesses should call 101.
