WORK starts on Monday to add a slip lane onto Great Western Way at Mannington.

The project is part of a £3.2m scheme to upgrade the roundabout and reduce congestion at peak times.

A new exit lane from the retail park is being built and Telford Way is to be widened to allow for two-way traffic.

The first three phases of the scheme, which has included the removal of the Wootton Bassett Road bus lane and improvements to Tewkesbury Way, are complete.

The fourth, starting this month, includes a 40mph speed limit introduced for traffic heading towards Blagrove from the roundabout and a 50mph zone heading the other way.

During construction work, while Telford Way is widened, traffic going onto the retail park will be diverted through the main car park.
