STEAM train enthusiasts greeted the Flying Scotsman with waves, cheers - and the snapping of camera shutters.
The iconic locomotive limped through Swindon railway station in a cloud of steam.
Dozens of rail enthusiasts lined the track outside the station to greet the train shortly after 10am as it made its way from London to Worcester.
Among them was Ron Selby, 83, from Cricklade, who used to take the train with his Scottish-born wife when she travelled north: “It was smashing. It’s a special train.”
Built in the early 1920s for the London North Eastern Railway at the firm’s Doncaster works, the Flying Scotsman took passengers from London to Scotland until the 1960s.
