GANGS of youngsters are riding dangerously and racially abusing pedestrians, according to one young mum.

Natasha Chakaipa told the Adver, said she had been the victim of vile racial slurs from the youngsters but she was too afraid to confront them.

Now she says she's avoiding some areas all together.

“I absolutely do not feel safe because racial and vulgar language comes easy to them, and you never know if they have knives or how far they are willing to go,” she said.

And she is not the only one to have seen groups of teens doing wheelies in the road, biking antisocially and harassing other road users.

Natasha, from Peatmoor, said: “It has become a common sight to see groups of four or more teens cycling the area all the way down to Peatmoor."

Recent reports include Westlea Drive, Toothill, near Oliver Tomkins Primary School, and more.

Fearing for her children’s safety, the 30-year-old mum is avoiding several areas she considers unsafe because she wants to prevent her and her family being attacked.

She said: “I had some teens on bikes shout abuse at me and my two young kids. It was very intimidating, and you never know who is carrying a knife, so I didn’t confront them. Kids are not kidding anymore.

“Now I avoid the areas and walk to places only when absolutely necessary for me and my children.

“I have a three-year-old and a two-year-old, but they don’t attend nursery locally because I wouldn’t feel comfortable frequenting areas where I’m constantly harassed.”

Natasha has lived in Swindon for about seven years and in Peatmoor for four years. She said when she was in Taw Hill there was no problem.

She said: “I’m black so they are not shy to use the N word as I pass by and any foul language they can think of. Sometimes they will be blocking the way with their bikes and my double buggy can’t pass. It’s peaceful in winter, but it gets worse in spring and summer and school holidays, which leads me to believe they are school kids.”

A video posted on YouTube shows shows a large group of teens weaving through traffic, doing wheelies and being taken to task by a police officer.

Westlea parish councillor Suresh Gattapur said he had received similar reports. “An old lady told me that young children on bikes teased her, making her feel threatened.

“The education comes from school and parents. I know a lot of parents are busy, but they should sit with their children and talk to them.

“I will speak to the PCSOs and improve the presence in the area. It started recently but I don’t know where it comes from.”
