A HOUSEBUILDER decided to donate £1,000 to the Swindon Children's Scrapstore.

Persimmon Homes picked the charity as one of the winning entries to the developer's Building Futures initiative which supports groups providing activities for under-18s.

Olivia McCann from the Scrapstore aid: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for this donation. Swindon Children’s Scrapstore has ambitious plans to expand the services offered by the organisation and enable more children to participate in sport.”

The Swindon Children’s Scrapstore is a registered charity and community resource centre that organises Scrappers Gym and promotes re-use as a way to protect the environment.

Pauline Fletcher from Persimmon Homes Wessex said: “Swindon Children’s Scrapstore has provided access to fitness equipment for young people in Swindon, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle. We are pleased to help with this donation, which will help towards the costs of new lighting installation for the gym.”

Building Futures is being delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation and awards monthly grants of £1,000 across the country.
