A family games night is being held on Friday to raise money for Julie Scott’s Academy of Performing Arts.

Between 5pm and 8pm, St Peter's Church Hall in Penhill will host the event, with attractions including giant versions of Jenga, Connect 4 and Twister.

Forty students from the academy are performing in a pre-parade at Disneyland Paris at the end of August, the games night will raise money towards the cost of the trip.

There will be dance games, card games, skittles and traditional board games on offer.

The evening is open to all, with an entrance fee of £3 per child – accompanying adults are free.

There will be bingo at £1 per entry, tickets for a raffle to win a pair of tickets for the MFor Festival and refreshments on sale.

Wayne Sims is running the event and is a father two boys who will be dancing in Paris.

He said: “It will be an evening of good old-fashioned fun. away from gadgets and TVs.”
