THE A419 has been shut by police near Blunsdon over concerns for a man's welfare.
Officers are understood to have been called to reports of a man on a road bridge over the main road.
Tailbacks stretch back to the White Hart junction.
One driver, stuck in the queues for 90 minutes said: “It’s a traffic system hell.”
Highways England has warned drivers to expect delays.
