POLICE said a summerhouse had been deliberately set alight last night in Old Town.
Firefighters and police officers attended a fire to the rear of The Quarries at approximately 10:30pm.
A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Initially two crews attended from Swindon, and found a summerhouse well alight, with the fire having spread to adjacent woodland.
“A crew from Westlea maintained a watching brief through the early hours, and a crew from Swindon returned this morning to close off the incident.
Wiltshire Police are investigating the incident as it is believed to have been started deliberately.
A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said: “It is believed the fire started in hay bales and spread to a summer house nearby, which was completely destroyed.”
