ASBESTOS delayed police from investigating a suspected burglary at a business on Commercial Road.
Officers were called shortly after 8.15am this morning, reporting the theft at offices at the Regent Circus end of the town centre road.
A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended, but due to concerns raised about potential asbestos in the building, the site has been handed over to the fire service.
“Once the building is confirmed safe, police will re-attend to investigate the burglary.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they had offered the police words of advice, but had not visited the property.
