LOCAL performers will take to the stage and help raise money for SNDogs.

The Seven Band Funday on July 28 has been organised by a dog owner Hayley Hunt, who rescued her furry friend from the Swindon animal shelter.

Hosted by the Level III venue on Commercial Road, the event will see seven local acts, including Sister Sister, Punk and Disorderly and Ska’Bucks, perform for free

Not only are the bands giving up their time for the cause, but the venue is also offering its services for free as its owner also adopted her dog Belle from the charity.

SNDogs trustee and founder member Jessie Bascombe said: “Hayley Hunt has organised the event to help raise funds for SNDogs, she recently adopted a pug from us, who has now been renamed 'Puggy Sue'.

“When Puggy and another pug came to us they had many medical issues and we have worked very hard with the help of Vets Klinic to get them back to good health. Sadly, along the way we lost the other pug, named Dolly.

“Hayley wanted to help give something back to SNDogs knowing the pugs had cost a lot to get treated.

“Hopefully it will be a good night we can go along and let our hair down for an evening while raising funds and awareness of SNDogs.”

Hayley said: “One night I saw a post from Jess asking for more foster homes.

“I messaged her to say we would be interested as I thought it would help bring my family together and help a furry friend.

“We already have three dogs anyway. I am now on my sixth foster.

"SNDogs do so much to help needy dogs that I just wanted to help them out as I admire and respect everything they do and have become good friends with Jess now.

“I now have four dogs as I adopted Puggy Sue. I helped raise some much-needed funds for her and her sister to have medical treatment they desperately needed. Unfortunately Dolly, the sister, passed away.

"Peggy Sue became quite a celebrity on Facebook and people often ask about her.”

More information is available on the SNDogs Facebook page and tickets for the event will cost £5.
