Two Stratton pensioners are opening their gardens for the benefit of the Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool.

Jeff and Reginald Bolton, aged 84 and 86 respectively, are hosting an ‘open gardens’ on July 27 between 2pm and 5pm, in order to raise funds for the facility.

The open gardens will be hosted at 38 and 39 St Phillips Road, where the Boltons have lived all of their lives.

Pool manager Neil Montgomery said: “They’ve been doing it for a few years and they’ve said they’ll do it one last time.

“Both gardens are amazing. I take my kids and they always ask why our garden can’t look like that.

“It’s a lovely event and Jeff’s a lovely guy. He can help with any problems and he’s really easy to talk to.

“These sort of events really do help us and they keep us going and they make some great cakes.”

Parking for the open gardens is provided by the Bakers Arms. Coffee, tea and cake will be available, with a minimum £2 donation to gain entry.
