The first production high speed train locomotive will be making a special appearance at STEAM for the opening of a unique month-long exhibition of nameplates.
The Sir Kenneth Grange locomotive, named after the designer of its shape, has been restored to its original 1976 livery. It will be in Swindon on Thursday, when the exhibition of Great Western network nameplates from the mid-80s will open to the public after a private viewing.
In addition, the new Castle Class nameplates which are being fitted to the new train class, the Castle Class, which are now operating along routes from south Wales to the south west, will be on display.
