Despite the flurry of big events this summer, if you take a stroll down memory lane, Swindon used to have a vibrant festival scene.

A variety of events took place between 2008 and 2014 and were successful.

One was the Sugarhill Festival, which last took place back in 2010.

The festival was named after the hill that the main stage was placed on near Liddington, with over 25 acts playing across the two days at the end of the summer.

Another was the Swindon Summer Festival, the event took place over three days and included a variety of acts such as acrobats and stilt walkers.

The final day of the festival at Faringdon Road Park featured a set from local DJ Luke Skywalker, a tribute to the Blues Brothers and a circus performance from Nofitstate circus troupe.

In 2009, the Summer Breeze Festival hit the scene. This festival lasted until 2014 but has not been held since.

The event's website showcases the local acts performing in 2014, including Brother Strut, Laid Blak and They Say Jump.

It was held at Warren Farm just outside Liddington and took place across three days.
