The final statement of Swindon Borough’s Council’s accounts for the financial year 2018-19 will be presented to councillors on Tuesday.
Members of the authority’s audit committee will hear a report by director of finance Mick Bowden, who will detail the council’s spending and receipts in the last year.
That report has been audited by the council's external auditors at Grant Thornton.
The committee will also receive a report on the council’s use of powers, given to it under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
More often in use by the intelligence and security agencies such as GCHQ or MI5, RIPA gives public authorities, including the borough council, the ability to use surveillance to prevent crime or in the interests of public safety.
The meeting starts at 6pm at the civic offices.
