Wiltshire fire brigade spent £5 million more than it received last year, members of the service's finance and government committee will be told this week.

The committee will receive a report on the brigade's final accounts for financial year 2018-19.

It will say that it's next expenditure - what is spent over what it received in its portion of the council tax and direct grants was £5.75m.

That's in contrasts to the previous year when the brigade under-spent by £635,000.

The £5m over-spend represents around nine per cent of the total cost of providing the fire and rescue services last year at £62.25m

The meeting is at the Five Rivers Centre at 11am on Wednesday.
