A NATURE group is hosting a 'pollinators picnic' this weekend.
Naturehood is inviting people to a community picnic in Penhill Community Orchard to celebrate pollinating insects and the foods that wouldn’t exist without them.
Attendees will learn about pollinator-friendly gardening, how to build a bug hotel for their garden or balcony, and how to identify common garden insects.
There will be the opportunity to win a flower planter and get free wildflower seeds.
This picnic is free but anyone interested in coming should register through Eventbrite.
A Naturehood spokesman said: “Join us for a family friendly, educational get together where we will celebrate the very important role of pollinating insects and our favourite food that would not exist without them.”
The event runs from noon to 2.30pm on Saturday.
