A TEENAGER was arrested following a fight involving around 20 youths in Queens Park.

The 14-year-old boy from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of affray, after a fight broke out in the park at around 4.45pm on July 22. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Crime Investigator Denise Mann said: “We believe this was a prearranged fight between two groups of young people.

“This was a violent incident and it is believed one of those involved was using a belt as a weapon during the incident.

“We will not tolerate behaviour of this kind. With the school holidays beginning, our parks will no doubt be full of young children and families who could have been caught up in the incident and would no doubt have frightened and intimidated by this kind of behaviour.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101.
