A MAN has been arrested after he tried to steal money from a victim's hand in Guildhall Square.
Now Wiltshire Police are trying to find witnesses to the incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon.
The force says that at around 4pm a man attempted to force money from a woman's hand.
However, the man was unsuccessful and the victim, a 46 year old local woman, was not injured.
A 39 year old local man was then arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and subsequently released under investigation.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We need witnesses to the incident to come forward, it is likely that there will have been a number of people in the area at the time and they may have key information."
