PROSPECT Hospice has refreshed the stock in its Westlea charity shop.

The Swindon-based charity relies on its 17 shops including the clearance store in Basepoint Business Centre to generate more than £2 million of income which can go towards providing hospice care for terminally-ill patients.

Prospect Hospice’s retail area manager Andrea Piper said: “There is a high demand for donated goods and our refreshed Basepoint store’s primary focus is to provide quality items to our customers at very low prices.

"It is an exciting shop for people to come and browse for a bargain or two. You might find a special treat for the children during the school holidays with lots of toys on sale from 50p.”

The clearance store opened earlier this year.

Spending £5 in-store on affordable good-quality items like clothes, bric a brac and small pieces of furniture can provide a terminally ill patient at Prospect's Wroughton headquarters with a warm and comforting meal.

The hospice provides vital care and support for patients and their families in a community of more than 300,000 people from Swindon, Marlborough and north-east Wiltshire.
