The open-air theatre is returning to Lydiard Park this Friday.

On August 2, families will be able to experience a performance of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland in front of the historic Lydiard House.

Immersion Theatres, described as one of London's most exciting and innovative theatre companies, will be putting on the performance for families of all ages.

Theatre goers will be able to follow Alice and the White Rabbit as they set off on a colourful adventure before meeting a host of outlandish characters including twins, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, and the Mad Hatter.

The performance will also feature live music and lots of audience participation ensuring it entertains the whole family.

The show will also give audience members the opportunity to meet the characters after the show has finished.

Councillor Russell Holland, deputy leader of Swindon Borough Council, said: "Lydiard Park has been hosting open-air theatre performances for many years and they have become a highlight of the summer holidays.

"Alice in Wonderland is a popular show that all the family can enjoy and this promises to be a fun evening in an atmospheric setting."
