WADDLING geese brought the M4 to a halt this morning.
The four birds landed on the motorway between junctions 11 and 12, near Reading, forcing police to close the road.
Dash cam footage posted by Thames Valley Police to Twitter shows the birds padding down the hard shoulder.
An officer can be seen walking towards the birds, resulting in them walking off down the westbound carriageway.
Ever wondered how fast a flock of geese can fly? About 26mph... 😆

4 🦢 decided to land on the #M4 #Reading junction 11 > 12 this morning. Had to bring the entire #M4 to a close to get them to take off! Then some bull horn & blue lights to carry on! @HighwaysSWEST #P5562 🤗 pic.twitter.com/0yCPC30b9n
Seconds later they are back on the road, with the traffic officer sounding his car’s bullhorn to get them airborne.
TVP Roads Policing posted on Twitter: “Ever wondered how fast a flock of geese can fly? About 26mph.”
The road has since reopened.
