SOUTHERN Rail has been named the UK's worst public transport company according to a new social media study.
Analysis of more than 3.2 million tweets discussing the country's biggest public transport revealed that Southern Rail, Great Northern, Thameslink, South Western Railway and Northern Rail frustrate and anger passengers the most.
Around 72 per cent of tweets about Southern Rail were negative and only 28 per cent were complimentary.
Great Western Railway placed just below halfway in the rankings, with 45 per cent positive feedback and 55 per cent negative feedback from 148,020 tweets.
Stagecoach, which offers several Swindon services, placed right in the middle of the bus services rankings table with a ratio of 56 per cent negative feedback and 44 per cent positive from 137,827 tweets.
