JURYS Inn in Swindon raised money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance by taking part in a nationwide challenge.

The hotel's staff hosted a bake sale and book sale as the chain's mascot Leo the Luggage arrived in town last week.

The team then took Leo on a sponsored walk to Cheltenham as part of charity challenge for Leonardo Hotels UK that will see other branches of Jurys Inn transport the mascot from Cork to London. as part of a charity challenge that will see it travel from Cork to London.

General manager Hazel Galloway said: "We believe in supporting our local communities and charities. We’re proud to have helped Leo on his journey across Jurys Inn and Leonardo properties and enjoyed working with our guests to support local charities whilst having some fun along the way."

The team raised £660 with more fundraising activities planned throughout the summer.

The challenge aims to raise a total of £70,000, with a target of £35,000 set for all properties to raise through their sponsored activities.

The full amount raised by each branch will be donated to local charities in their areas and matched by Jurys Inn HQ.
