The number of adults in full-time residential or nursing care dropped in Swindon in the year to April 2019 compared to the previous year.

According to a report on adult social care to be made to Swindon Borough Council's scrutiny committee on Monday there were 909 adults who are users of the council's adults' services who receiving permanent nursing and residential care in the Borough at April this year.

That's down from 960 the previous year a five per cent drop.

There wer 13 adults under 65 in nursing care ad 192 in residential care, with 277 over 65 in nursing are and 427 in ordinary residential care. Numbers dropped in all four categories.

Swindon Borough Council's policy is to try and keep those who can living at home for as long as possible.
