A DRIVER banned for speeding the wrong-way down Station Road has been fined after he admitted to driving with a cocktail of cocaine and cannabis in his veins.

Convicted drug dealer Ramin Mohammadzadeh was banned for 33 months jailed for a year-and-a-half in April for dangerous driving after a high-speed chase through the town centre in January 2018.

The pursuit came to a halt in Bathurst Road, with Mohammadzadeh ditching his Corsa and leaping over a County Road garden fence. The 32-year-old, who could not be convicted of drug driving because police took too long to charge him was also found to have had a stun gun stashed in in the car.

Yesterday, Mohammadzadeh was back in court charged with three counts of drug driving in January 2019.

The Iranian pleaded guilty to being five times over the limit for cocaine bi-product Benzoylecgonine and seven times over the cannabis drug drive limit. Blood tests also found he had the equivalent of 13 microgrammes of cocaine in a litre of blood. The legal limit is 10 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned Mohammadzadeh from driving for 18 months. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge, deeming it paid by time served.
