CHICKEN shop chain KFC is providing two new bins near its Westlea restaurant after pressure from West Swindon Parish Council.

Suresh Gattapur, a parish councillor for the area, said the bins would help keep the neighbouring business park and roads free from the fast food waste.

KFC, based on Great Western Way, follows the Bridgemead McDonalds in providing the waste bins.

Welcoming the arrival of two new bins, Mr Gattapur said: "It will encourage local businesses to come forward to help their communities by sponsoring the bins.

"They are also taking responsibility for the litter that comes from their food businesses.

"Legally, they don't need to, but at least they are coming forward."

Any businesses interested in sponsoring a bin should contact West Swindon Parish Council's clerk on 01793 466418.
