PARKINSON'S Swindon is looking for volunteers to join its branch committee.

Some of the current team are finding it difficult to continue due to the progression of their condition and new people are needed to take their place on the committee.

Chair Dave Logan said: "Following the honour of being awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, we are keen to maintain the standard of the many services we provide in support of those affected by the progressive degenerative condition with no cure, Parkinson’s.

"Our intention is where possible not only improve these services but if finances allow add to them.

To do this we need a dedicated team of innovative volunteers on our Branch committee. Currently our committee consists of people with Parkinson’s or their carers.

"We need some new innovative volunteers with computer skills and able to think outside of the box to breathe new life into the running of Parkinson’s Swindon."

Roles include event co-ordinators, venue booking, graphic design, administration of local contracts, supporting our fundraisers.

The committee meet in the Tesco Extra at Ocotal Way Community Room on the second Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9pm.
