JOB vacancies and events can help unemployed Swindonians find work.

Swindon Jobcentre mnager Julie Marshall said: “Rayburn Health Care have interviewed 11 people and given nine of them jobs and are always looking for more staff.

“We helped 11 people find work at Compass Catering who are also looking for more employees. The centre promoted vacancies in Angels Care at Home, Voyage Care, Barchester Care, and the security industry.

“Amazon Flex and Workchain are looking for drivers, XPO Logistics and Homebase are looking for warehouse staff, a manager is needed at Body Care in the Town Centre, Lush wants a spa therapist, Cleo Clinic is looking for a beauty therapist and Waterstones is recruiting a bookseller.

“Looking ahead, we are preparing for Royal Mail to offer a lot of vacancies in the Christmas season, with applications accepted from August 29 to September 15."

A jobs fair will be held at the County Ground on August 30 from 10am to 4pm. The centre is continuing its mentoring circle scheme in partnership with HomeBase and Angels Care at Home which offers professional help to young people who are inexperienced in the labour market.
