BURGLARS armed with weapons threatened two people who tried to challenge them after the thieves raided a home north of Swindon yesterday evening.
Police were called at around 5.10pm on Tuesday. Three men had reportedly just left a house in Meysey Hampton, near Cricklade, carrying various items.
A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "They were spotted by two members of the public who were subsequently threatened with weapons. The offenders then fled the scene in a vehicle.
"Investigating officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has seen a vehicle in the area, or surrounding area, which had a foreign registration plate."
Nobody was in the house at the time of the burglary, police confirmed.
Anyone with information should call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101.
