PARKING your car against the garage door could help deter would-be burglars, Royal Wootton Bassett police have said.
It came as two men tried to raid a garage in the town in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police were called to Robins Close at around 4.45am following reports of an attempted burglary.
On Facebook, Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Police said: “Fortunately, the offenders did not manage to make off with anything.
“However, we would like to appeal to any witnesses who were up around this time and may have seen two white males wearing dark clothing on the Woodshaw estate.”
They urged people to keep their garages locked and fit CCTV, extra locks, bollards and alarms where possible.
“If possible, park vehicles right up to garage doors to limit access,” officers added.
Anyone with information about the attempted burglary in Wootton Bassett should call police on 101 or send police a direct message via their Facebook page.
