Tennessee Chicken, with branches at Regent Circus and Cricklade Road, was praised.
Liz Haunton said of the town centre restaurant: “They do the best chicken in town. They do piri piri that’s better than Nando’s, fried chicken that’s better than KFC. It’s cheaper and they deliver. Spot on.”

The Pick Up Point, Old Town
New Old Town pop-up the Pick Up Point, at the Hop Inn, got dozens of recommendations.
The Korean-style wings and burgers have got the digestive juices flowing.
The pop-up is based at The Hop
Dean Heritage called them the best wings he’s had in his whole life: “These wings are so tender you just twist one of the bones out of the wing, leaving you with a perfect chicken stick.”
Adam Allen said: “For something a bit different, the Pick Up Point’s Korean and Vietnamese chicken wings at the Hop Inn are extremely fresh, tasty and with just the right amount of kick.”

Gurt Wings, Old Town
Another foodie pop-up that had its customers raving about its chicken was Gurt Wings.
Operating out of Baila Coffee & Vinyl, Victoria Road, on Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant’s meat was described as amazing.
One man, giving his name only as Patrick, said: Liam Donovan said: “Gurt Wings does the best wings in the area. It’s good quality chicken with a great choice of flavours. It’s also amazing value and great for a weekend night out.
“Amazing street food, served in a place with a great atmosphere, drinks and music.”

Rooster's Grill Shack
Well-established town centre chicken restaurant Rooster’s Grill Shack was put forward.
One Adver reader, describing himself as Mr Skeng, said: “Hands down the best chicken in Swindon.”
The Fleet Street restaurant describes itself online as selling Portuguese food.
It advertises an all-you-can eat deal for £16.50, available in store from 3pm daily.

Pepe's Piri Piri, town centre
There was praise for town-centre joint Pepe’s Piri Piri.
Alex Roberts said of the shop, which opened in Regent Circus last year: “Better than Nandos.”
Earlier this summer, owner of the Swindon branch Saeed Ahmed warned he could be forced to close after burglars repeatedly raided the shop.
“I was very excited when I started this business in February. I invested £250,000 and my business generated more than 10 full and part-time jobs in Swindon,” he said.
“But with this happening, I’m feeling very down."
