WILTSHIRE is set for yet another deluge as heavy rain moves across much of the county tomorrow.

After a dismal day on Wednesday, Friday’s forecast sees more wet weather coming our way.

The persistent rain is due to move east and arrive about 3pm, with heavy showers continuing for the rest of the day.

This week forecasters from the Met Office said the wet weather may remain until the end of the month, making August’s washout complete.

Met Office forecaster Becky Mitchell said: “It’s been pretty wet and it looks like it’s going to stay that way until the last week of August. Only then are we expecting to see a break in the clouds.”

For the next few days, the Met Office predicts:

Friday – “Often heavy rain will soon spread eastwards, with gales possible along coasts and over hills. The rain will be persistent through the day but the wind will ease later. Maximum Temperature 19 °C.”

Saturday to Monday - “The unsettled theme will continue, with sunshine and showers and strong winds through the weekend. The showers will continue into Monday, but the wind will ease.”

When will rain hit Wiltshire tomorrow?

There is a 50 per cent chance of rain from 1pm in Swindon, but 3pm is when it will set in. A 90 per cent probability of heavy showers is then in place until about 11pm.
