A STAR student with a passion for playing instruments is the first student at his academy to achieve an A* in music.
Alex Harris juggled his Royal Wootton Bassett Academy studies with sessions in the National Youth Orchestra.
He will now go on to a four-year course studying Classical Horn at the Guild Hall School of Music in London.
Alex said: "The school helped me manage the revision and the practice sessions, I've had a good amount of support.
"I didn't realise I was the first student to get this grade, that's amazing.
"It was difficult and a lot of work but we got there so I'm very happy and pleased. It's nice to get these results and begin the next stage of my life.
"The more music I play, the more it resonates with something within me and I want to convey my love of it to an audience.
"This will help me find a new way forward as a musician and an artist, which is really exciting, I can't wait."
