MOTORISTS have been asked to be patient as work on a key junction in Corsham begins a new phase.

Old traffic signals are being replaced at the junction by the Cross Keys Inn and resurfacing work carried out.

The scheme is expected to be finished next month but there are to five nights when the road is closed.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Council said: “The second phase of work sees surfacing improvements take place overnight at the end of August.

“ During this time, it will be necessary to close all roads at the junction to complete these activities.

“This is in addition to the measures in place for phase one, which will continue to operate outside of the full closure period.Work will take place between 8pm and 6am. These works are anticipated to last for five nights.

Bridget Wayman, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We’re pleased with the progress.

“We ask for people’s patience for a little while longer while we complete the job and we hope they’re not inconvenienced too much.”

Diversions are in place on the A4 / A46 / A420 and A350.
