A MASTERS student is putting on her own mental health festival next month.
Brin Gallagher, 22, in Old Town studies a music performance course online at West London University and wants to raise awareness of mental health issues for musicians.
There will be mental health professionals at the event to help support anyone suffering from mental health and to help spot the signs.
Brin speaks about why she wanted to put on Swindon Mental Health Festival: “I have suffered with mental health in the past so it’s personal to me. I did a bit of research and I realised that there was a gap for people knowing where to go for support, particularly for musicians so I thought that it would help if there were others who they could reach out to. There is a private Facebook group I created for musicians to network and to talk to others about what are going through.”
All the money raised will go to Help Musicians UK and it will be at Lawn Part between 12 and 4pm on September 1.
